Biography

Amira has been a pharmacist since 2011 working in various sectors of pharmacy including community pharmacy, CCG, Urgent care (NHS111), National Pharmacist Association and as a Deputy Lead Pharmacist in general practice for Islington GP Federation.

She completed her independent prescriber qualification with De Montfort University in 2018. Over the last four years she has split her time between teaching at UCL and NHS England.

With UCL she was a Lecturer on the Clinically Enhanced Pharmacist Independent Prescribers' (CEPIP) course and was then promoted to Academic Lead for the course. She also worked part-time as a Pharmacy Program Facilitator for NHS England's Workforce, Education and Training Directorate supporting the Pharmacist Foundation Training program.

In addition to this she is currently an External Examiner for University of Derby for Postgraduate Certificate Integrated Urgent Care Practice, Postgraduate Diploma Clinically Enhanced Integrated Urgent Care and General Practice Assistant Programs for nursing students.

Amira has joined KCL School of Nursing as a Academic Education Pathway (AEP) Lecturer in Prescribing for Healthcare Practice working alongside Dr Lorraine Robbinson and Shelley Peacock to contribute and deliver the PGT Nurse or Midwife Independent and Supplementary Prescribing module.
