Biography

Dr Amy Morgan is a Research Clinical Psychologist at at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London (KCL). They obtained a BSc in Psychology from the University of Leeds and a MSc in Mental Health Studies at KCL, before completing their Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at the IoPPN. Their work focuses on the impact of social inequalities on mental health, centring the experiences of people who face discrimination and marginalisation, particularly LGBTQ+ and racially minoritised communities, to inform more equitable psychological care.

Their current work at the IoPPN involves providing their clinical psychology expertise to support a programme of youth mental health research and service innovation, working in partnership with South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, community youth organisations and schools. This work is co-produced with young people with a focus on the development and evaluation of psychological interventions for a variety of underserved groups. Alongside their academic work, Dr Amy Morgan is a practising Clinical Psychologist at Central and North West London (CNWL) NHS Foundation Trust in the HIV and sexual health psychology service.
