Biography

Callum completed his master's in philosophy at Columbia in 2015. Since then he has run a software and consultancy business, worked as a senior advisor in the Cabinet Office, and trained and worked as a baker. His PhD research came about after teaching courses on diplomacy and ethics at undergraduate level, and realising there was relatively little political philosophy at the overlap of these topics.

PhD research

Whether and how to engage in diplomacy is an issue of deep ethical importance. It touches on war and peace, climate change, international justice, and a variety of other critical issues. My research attempts to understand diplomacy from the perspective of normative political theory.
