Biography
Carla Menares Arancibia (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the School of Education, Communication and Society at King’s College London and a member of the Cognition, Learning, and Communities Lab. She holds a BA in English Language Teaching and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Chile. Carla has worked as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at King’s and as a Research Assistant on projects involving language processing and eye tracking in Chile and the UK. She has experience teaching English and Spanish in higher education to pre-service teachers, international students, and learners in health-related fields.
Research Interests
Her research interests include multilingualism, morphosyntactic processing, and online methods. Her current research, funded by the Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo (ANID), explores the predictive processing of morphosyntactic cues in the early stages of L3 acquisition using artificial languages and eye-tracking technology.
