Dr Bob Burstow

Visiting Research Fellow

Biography

In the first part of his career Dr Burstow gained over 30 years experience in a variety of UK secondary schools, spending the last 10 years as Deputy Head. During this time he taught science, ICT and psychology. 

The move to King's enabled Dr Burstow to share his experience with the next generation of teachers and deepen his understanding of this most interesting and vital of jobs.

Research

  • The efficacy of professional development for individual staff and for the school organisation.
  • An exploration of the long term effects of cpd programmes, issues surrounding the engagement of individual teachers with imposed cpd programmes and the meaningful evaluation of this type of professional development.
  • Cross-curricular ICT as a vehicle for change within subject departments.
