Biography
Dr Elham Alsahafi received her bachelor's in Dental Medicine and Surgery in 2012 from the Abdulaziz University School of Dentistry in Saudi Arabia. In 2014 she worked as a demonstrator in the Department of Basic & Clinical Oral Sciences at the Umm al-Qura University School of Dentistry after which she obtained a scholarship from the Ministry of Education to continue her postgraduate studies. She obtained her MSc degree in Oral Sciences in 2015 from Queen Mary University of London. In 2020, Elham was awarded her PhD degree in Head and Neck Cancer Molecular Biology at King's College London. Interestingly, her PhD project identified a novel radiosensitising role for EGFR in HPV-positive HNC. She recently joined the Naglik Lab as a Research Associate investigating the mechanisms of C.Albicans as a risk factor for initiation and progression of oral cancer and inflammation.
