Biography

Hannah Walsh is a registered mental health nurse with an interest in health inequalities. She was awarded an NIHR MRes studentship, then a Nightingale studentship to undertake her PhD. Her thesis used mixed methods to develop the evidence base for an intervention to address co-use of tobacco and cannabis amongst young adults in further education and was carried out in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care. She has been involved in a number of projects which address smoking cessation interventions for people who misuse other substances and has previously worked at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, most recently in the Cannabis Clinic.

Hannah is a current ESRC post-doctoral fellow, working on developing her work in Further Education settings in relation to young adult substance misuse within the Nicotine Research Group.

  • Tobacco cessation in mental health and substance misuse settings
  • Tobacco and cannabis co-use
