Biography
Jad Sayegh is a PhD student in the Department of Chemistry, King's College London.
He is undertaking his PhD under the supervision of Dr Tim Nott (Department of Chemistry) and the co-supervision of Prof Sasi (Maria R) Conte (Randall Centre for Cell & Molecular Biophysics).
Prior to this, Jad completed a MSci degree in Biochemistry at King’s College London in 2024. As part of his MSci degree, Jad undertook an undergraduate project in the Carlton group looking at the role of protein phosphorylation in cell division, and a Master’s project in the Conte group investigating the interaction of the semi-disordered LARP4B protein with RNA, during which he obtained the McClare Memorial Biophysics Prize and the Layton Research Award from the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. The latter project confirmed Jad’s interest in using biophysical techniques to study protein structure and interactions, leading him to join the Nott group in 2024.
