Biography

Kausik obtained his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Aninda Sinha. He was a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2020-21), and a short-term visitor at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bangalore. He then held a postdoctoral fellowship from 2021 to 2024 with the Fields, Gravity, and Strings group at the Physics Laboratory of the École Normale Supérieure (LPENS), Paris. In October 2024, he joined the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London, where he is currently a Research Associate in the Theoretical Physics group.

Research interests

  • Conformal Bootstrap
  • S -matrix Bootstrap
  • Defect Conformal Field Theories

Kausik developed a non-perturbative numerical approach to conformal field theories using analytic functionals, which has shown faster convergence compared to traditional numerical bootstrap methods in one- and two-dimensional conformal field theories. He is currently working on extending these tools to higher dimensions and exploring their application in the context of defect conformal field theories.
