Biography
Lucy Coombes is a research associate at the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation and a paediatric palliative care Nurse Consultant at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Lucy has over 25 years’ experience as a registered children’s nurse. Her research focuses on improving outcome measurement and child-centred care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.Lucy completed her PhD developing and evaluating the Children’s Palliative Outcome Scale (C-POS:UK), a person-centred measure designed to capture outcomes that matter most to children, young people, and their families. Her work has contributed to advancing the field of outcome measures in paediatric palliative care.Lucy’s broader research interests include outcome measurement, access to palliative care, and improving the quality and equity of care for children and families with complex health needs. She works across clinical and academic settings to support the integration of evidence-based, child-centred approaches into practice.
