Biography
Mandeep Gill Sagoo is Reader in Anatomy and Inclusive Education at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London, where she also serves as Faculty Inclusive Education Lead (Biosciences). She co-leads the award-winning Synthetic Anatomy module, integrating anatomy, bioengineering, and the arts, recipient of the Anatomical Society Education Innovation Award (2023). She also co-leads the Common Year One Anatomy module, embedding inclusive, collaborative learning for over 600 students annually.
Her leadership in inclusive education has shaped faculty-wide practice: establishing the Inclusive Education Bioscience Working Group, leading College-funded projects on inclusive assessments, rubrics and feedback, and co-developing qVault, an AI-powered assessment platform. She also co-leads the Success for Black Engineers and Students programme, securing national recognition for advancing equity in STEM.
Internationally, she is King’s lead for the International Collaboration and Exchange Programme (ICEP), a global network spanning 41 universities across five continents, recently recognised with the AMEE ASPIRE-to-Excellence Award (2025).
Her research and innovation extend into the development of MRI/CT-compatible brain phantoms and haptic models for neurosurgical training, alongside advancing inclusive assessment and feedback literacy. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and contributes nationally as a reviewer for the Anatomical Sciences Education journal.
Beyond her faculty roles, she teaches on postgraduate programmes with the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopists, and is regularly invited to speak on anatomy, AI in education, and inclusive pedagogy at national and international forums.
She has co-led several inclusive education initiatives, including:
- includED HE – a toolkit for feedback literacy
- Success for Black Engineers and Students programme
- qVault AI-Assessment Platform
- Synthetic Anatomy
She has lead the development of the FoLSM Inclusive Education SharePoint page (Internal) to foster belonging and equity.
