King’s contributions to the understanding of human anatomy date back to the seventeenth century, with the pioneering work of Thomas Wharton, and extend to the present.

Anatomy at King’s College has an international reputation for scholarship and teaching. The Guy’s campus is home to the world-famous Gordon Museum of Pathology and has long been linked to the production of Gray’s Anatomy. The current editor, Professor Susan Standring is emeritus professor and a former Head of Anatomy (to 2009). The Department has a commitment to public engagement at a number of levels from Schools to Arts projects.

We teach on a wide range of modules at all levels across the Bioscience Education programmes.

We invite applications for an Anatomy Demonstrator position at our Guy’s Campus.  These posts offer teaching across our Medical, Dental, BSc and MSc programmes, over a 9 month period from September to May each year.

Demonstrators are given expert guidance for postgraduate surgical and radiological examinations and they also receive instruction on aspects of Clinical Anatomy.  In addition, there is an opportunity to pursue independent research and to publish work arising.

Applicants must possess an MBBS degree and have a valid UK work permit.  We particularly welcome applications from those who have completed Foundation Year 2, and from those who have completed appropriate post-graduate exams.  All applicants must demonstrate a commitment to a career path in their chosen field, and not have taken more than a year out of training.

These posts will be advertised on the College Recruitment pages Jobs at King's College London ( and also in the Times Higher Education Jobs pages;  University & Academic Jobs | THEunijobs (
