Biography

Mayu Miyazaki is a PhD student in the Department of Engineering, King’s College London.

She conducts her research with the support of the Net Zero Centre, under the supervision of Sorin-Cristian Vlădescu. Her research focuses on the development of a new generation of water-based lubricants for electric vehicles.

Mayu holds a Bachelor of Science degree (2000–2004) and a Master of Science degree (2004–2006) in Chemical Engineering from Osaka University. Following the completion of her postgraduate studies, she worked for approximately ten years as a researcher at Kobe Steel, Ltd., where she was involved in the lubrication of rolling processes.

She subsequently served as a research associate at Yokohama National University for five years, focusing on the industrial application of polymer brushes using surface texturing techniques. More recently, she gained two years of experience in press releases and broadcasting as part of the public relations division at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology.
