Biography

Sacha Morris is a Lecturer in Robotics Education on the Academic Education Pathway (AEP) in the Department of Engineering at King’s College London, where he teaches across robotics, control, and mechatronics, and project-based learning.

He has received multiple teaching award nominations and was part of the team recognised with a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) in 2025, reflecting his commitment to innovative and student-centred engineering education. His doctoral research at King’s College London focuses on adaptive impedance control and soil–robot interaction, with applications to robotic manipulation and locomotion in complex environments. His work investigates the modelling and control of compliant actuators, estimation-based approaches for surface property classification, and the integration of learning-based methods for adaptive robotic behaviour.

Sacha holds a BEng in Electronic Engineering from King’s College London, graduating with first-class honours. He is actively involved in mentoring and outreach activities aimed at inspiring underrepresented groups to pursue careers in STEM.
