Biography
Simon Redor is a Research Associate in the Department of Engineering, King’s College London, working in the Green Energy Materials Lab, under the supervision of Dr Laura Lander. He is currently working on the synthesis of new cathode materials for post Li-ion battery technologies.
He has a PhD in Materials Science from Sorbonne Université (Paris, France). During his PhD, he focused on the synthesis and characterisation of transition metal oxide powders and thin films, and the study of their electrochemical and optical properties in Li-ion electrochromic systems.
Simon has expertise in multiple methods for the synthesis of inorganic materials (namely solid-state synthesis and solvothermal synthesis), and in standard ex situ and operando characterisation techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. He is also familiar with standard techniques for battery testing.
Research Interests
- Materials synthesis
- Transition metal oxides and sulphides
- Post Li-ion batteries
