Expertise and public engagement
Steven’s interest in performance theory stems from his long‑standing practice in theatre direction and scriptwriting. He has secured two national fellowships in direction and scriptwriting and has been invited to international theatre festivals and organisations to present and discuss his work. His plays have been serialised in newspaper tabloids and also appear in the first 'Indian Electronic Literature Anthology'. He has spoken about his performance practice in interviews such as with France 24 (France TV) New Delhi and has been invited by German institutions to present his approach to performance on expert panels.
He has also been invited to expert panels on Christianity, convened by research centres and civil‑society organisations across Delhi, Goa, Bangalore, and Kerala.
As a Governing Body member of DHARTI (Digital Humanities Alliance for Research and Teaching Innovations), Steven contributes to the Events Committee by organising workshops and conferences that actively engage public‑facing audiences with Digital Humanities pedagogy.
