
Biography
Professor Wuquan Deng is a Consultant and Professor of Endocrinology at Chongqing University Central Hospital. He is also a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London. With a PhD in Endocrinology from Chongqing Medical University and postdoctoral research experience at the University of Arizona under the mentorship of Prof. David G. Armstrong, Prof. Deng has extensive expertise in the clinical management of diabetes, diabetic foot, and endocrine emergency and critical illness. His research focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of diabetes and its complications, as well as advancing treatments for diabetic foot wounds through regeneration, repair, and offloading interventions. He has initiated the FOOT study and developed the "Toe and Flow" Global Collaborative Research Network.
Prof. Deng’s innovative work in big data analysis, machine learning, and medical device development continues to shape the future of diabetic care and limb preservation, particularly for patients in rural regions.
Academic Research: Prof. Deng has published over 100 peer-reviewed research papers in prestigious medical journals and contributed to 12 book chapters. His research contributions have been recognized globally, and he has served as an editor and reviewer for numerous scientific journals.
