The ReWork Lab is an interdisciplinary research group bringing together knowledge from mental health, organisational psychology and human resources to better understand how people can be supported to be mentally healthy and well at work through early intervention, sustained wellbeing and recovery when difficulties arise.
Mental health and wellbeing at work are shaped by a complex interplay of individual, social and organisational factors, and the path to wellbeing is often non-linear and unique to each person. Good outcomes depend as much on preventing difficulties and identifying them early as they do on supporting people once challenges emerge.
As a mixed-method lab, we investigate the full continuum of mental health and wellbeing at work, from prevention and early intervention, through to staying well, recovery, and return to work- employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including the application of large-scale data analyses, to generate robust and translational insights.
Our vision is for individuals to have timely, reliable and person-centred information, strategies and support that empower them to stay mentally healthy at work, and to recover and return to work with confidence when needed.
At the organisational level, we collaborate to develop evidence-based policies and processes that enable employers to foster mentally healthy workplaces, identify risks early and support their workforce effectively, building healthier, more sustainable organisations.
