The Recovery and Return to Work (ReWork) Lab is an interdisciplinary research group bringing together knowledge from mental health, organisational psychology and human resources to better understand how people can be supported to return to work in a meaningful and sustainable way.
Meaningful and good-quality work can have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing. However, the process of occupational recovery is often complex, non-linear, and unique to each individual. As a mixed-method lab, we investigate the multifaceted nature of occupational recovery, employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including the application of large-scale data analyses, to generate robust and translational insights.
Our vision is for individuals to have timely, reliable, and person-centred information, strategies, and support that empower them to return to work with confidence. At the organisational level, we collaborate to develop evidence-based policies and processes that enable employers to support their workforce more effectively, fostering healthier, more sustainable workplaces.
