Research on attitudes to everyday numbers
The Richmond Project - a UK numeracy charity founded by Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty - has commissioned this research into public attitudes on numbers. The Policy Institute are working in partnership with Public First and Purposeful Ventures.
The project will use surveys, focus groups, and family case studies to explore how people across the UK feel and think about everyday numbers, and how people view their experiences with everyday numbers. We have designed a conceptual framework to guide the research, and the insights will aim to inform practical and evidence-based solutions to help people feel more confident using numbers in daily life.
The full report will be released in the summer of 2026.
