Gibbons Group

Led by Professor Deena Gibbons, the Gibbons Group focuses on understanding immune cell development and function in human neonates, including both those born at term and prematurely, with the aim of understanding the developing immune system to improve infant and child mortality and morbidity. Professor Timothy Tree heads up a team of researchers, focusing on translational medicine and developing therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. Collaborating internationally, the long-term research aim is to contribute to the development of new immune-modulating therapies to treat or prevent these diseases.
