Description

The MSc in Global Finance & Banking offers specialised, practical and theoretical education in an environment of academic excellence.  It is designed for students who aim to pursue or progress their careers in banking and finance, including roles in financial regulation, finance and risk management and actuarial science.

Studying the MSc, PG Dip, PG Cert 100% flexible distance learning Global Finance and Banking course at King’s Business School is suitable for:-

Teaching

This course has been designed specifically for a 100% online audience. It uses a range of interactive activities to support learning, including discussion forums, online readings, interactive lectures, videos and online tutorials.

Students are expected to undertake approximately 22 hours of study per week. In addition to the online learning resources designed specifically for this programme, students will have access to King’s College London’s Library Services, electronic resources, supportive online tutors and student support services.

Assessment

Students are assessed through a combination of written coursework and online examinations. The assessment methods may vary between modules but each module will include one or more of these methods.

MSc – modules totalling 180 credits.
PG Dip – modules totalling 120 credits.

Entry requirements

Global Finance and Banking Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements 2:1

1st class or 2:1 undergraduate degree required in a social science related area (e.g. management, economics, finance or other relevant subject). The programme is most suitable if students have some quantitative background in either finance, economics or have a degree with some quantitative elements. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme.

Non Standard: Candidates who do not achieve a 2:1 but have professional experience may be considered.  Each application is considered on a case-by-case basis.

This 100% flexible online study course is an intensive modular course. It enables students to manage their study time alongside their work and home life commitments.

You will be asked to submit the following documents in order for your application to be considered:

Personal Statement No A personal statement is not required as part of your application.
Previous Academic Study Yes A copy (or copies) of your official academic transcript(s), showing the subjects studied and marks obtained. If you have already completed your degree, copies of your official degree certificate will also be required. Applicants with academic documents issued in a language other than English, will need to submit both the original and official translation of their documents.
References No References are not required as part of your application.
 Other Yes Please submit a full CV of your professional experience as part of your application.

Fees and funding

The tuition fees for this Master’s, PG Dip and PG Cert consist of individual modular payments. The number of modules you take will be determined by your chosen award.   

The cost of each module is £ 1,875.

PG Cert: £7,500.00 (pay for 4 modules)
PG Dip: £15,000.00 (pay for 8 modules)
MSc: £22,500.00 (pay for 12 modules)

Additional fee information

Fees are due just prior to the commencement of each module.  To accept your place on the course you will need to pay a deposit covering your first module.  In addition, there is a non-refundable application fee of £60.

Module fees may rise on an annual basis in line with King’s College London’s terms and conditions.

Additional Fee information: Please note that fees may rise in subsequent years in line with inflation. All fee increases will be capped at a maximum of 5%.

Additional costs

In addition to tuition fees, you need to ensure that you have reliable access to a PC, laptop or tablet connected to the internet to complete the course.

Although optimised for a mobile we cannot guarantee the ability to complete the course only using a mobile device.

You may need to upgrade your browser in the future. Access to a high-speed network connection is also recommended (2.5Mbps minimum). Dial-up, cable and DSL are not recommended.

Software
You will have access to Microsoft Office ProPlus whilst studying at King's.  This includes access to 5 licences for Windows or Apple, 5 phone and 5 tablet licences.

Office 365 software and an email address will be provided free of charge to all students by the King’s College London IT Services. 

In addition to the costs above, you can also expect to pay for:
