King's offers libraries at all our main campuses, providing you with the resources you need to support your teaching, learning and research. 

The majority of our libraries are open 24/7, and offer a wide range of working environments including computer rooms, silent study rooms, assistive technology rooms, a wellbeing room, and spaces for group work. Postgraduate only workspaces are also available at our libraries based near Strand Campus and on the Waterloo and Guy's campuses.

In addition to accessing King's libraries, King's students also have access to the Senate House Library (University of London), one of the UK's largest academic libraries for arts, humanities, and social sciences.

IT services at King's provide:

• Over 1,200 student PC workstations with access to software, email, internet resources, printing, data storage and remote login facilities
• Computer rooms open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• Internet and PC access, including wireless, at all College residences
• Access to specialist departmental software and personal files from any PC/laptop with an internet/wireless connection via the Global Desktop
• Software advice and distribution services, including discounted software deals.

King's treasury of five million archival items and nearly 300,000 special collection books is of international significance both as a scholarly resource and as part of our cultural heritage. Professional archivists and rare book librarians advise on materials available for specific research and provide methodological guidance. Holdings in the archive include:

• The historical library of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office; 60,000 volumes covering five centuries of the UK's interactions with the world.
• The largest archives in London reflecting the practice of medicine, psychiatry and healthcare.
• The individual lives of Londoners over several centuries.
• Scientific discoveries and firsts including Maxwell, Wheatstone, Appleton, Franklin and Wilkins's work.
• Research interests in the history of war and international politics (the Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives)
• Modern poetry including an unmatched collection of recordings of concrete poets.
• Papers on the history, culture and politics of modern Greece and Portugal.

The ethics application process at King’s is designed to assist staff and students in identifying ethical issues and how they might be best addressed.

The Research Ethics Office is able to provide support via online resources, expert advice to those applying for ethical approval within the College and training in research ethics for staff and students.
