If you receive your results on A-level results day, and King's has courses with availability, you can call our Clearing hotline on +44 (0)20 3858 1050 when it opens at 08:00 (BST) on Thursday 13 August 2026. Offers through Clearing can only be made to applicants who are aged 18 or above on 1 September 2026.

Why do we process your personal information?

We process your personal information in order to:

1. Enable your application for entry to be considered
2. Enable the compilation of statistics, or to assist other organisations or individual research workers to do so, provided that no statistical information which would identify you as a person will be shared or published
3. To enable the initiation of your student record

Data protection legislation allows us to use your personal information in this way because:

• It is required to deliver an agreement (or ‘contract’) we have with you, or with the view to enter into a contract with you;
• It is required for our public task as a teaching and research institution;
• where there is a legitimate interest to process the personal data where it does not infringe on your rights under data protection.

The benefits of the processing are:

1. The timely and accurate assessment of your application
2. The means to contact you for further information or clarification
3. The provision of course details and relevant enrolment details

The impacts this would have on you are:

1. Automated emails generated by our Student Records system (SITS:Vision) will be sent to the email address provided upon application to update you on the status of your application
2. Personal details will be stored on our Student Records system (SITS:Vision)

In our assessment, the impacts on you do not override the benefits of the processing.

Do you have to provide your personal information and what are the consequences of not doing so?

You must provide the personal information requested during the application process to allow for the consideration of your application and to enable the initiation of your student record if successful in your application.

If you do not, we will be unable to process your application and you will be unable to enrol at King’s College London.

How long do we keep your information for?

Successful applicants

• We will keep your information permanently as part of the corporate student record.

Unsuccessful applicants

• We will keep your information for 6 years in order to facilitate future applications and for statistical purposes.

We may be required or permitted to share personal information by law (e.g. for law enforcement purposes).

Do we carry out marketing?

When applying through the “Self – Apply” system your details will not be used for marketing purposes.

If you were to sign up to marketing, within any communications, you will be provided with a simple and transparent way to unsubscribe. Any changes you request to how your personal information is processed for the purposes of marketing and/or the provision of service updates will be acted on promptly.

Will your personal information be transferred overseas?

Your personal information will not be transferred overseas.

Where relevant data transferred outside of the EU/EEA is safeguarded with standard contractual clauses. These clauses are approved by the European Commission for transfers to processors outside of the European Economic Area.
