A small number of courses may have places available in Clearing, which opens on 2 July 2026. Check our available courses webpage to see which courses are still open for 2026 entry.
King’s receives around 70,000 applications for undergraduate study each year. We usually make enough offers to fill all of our places during the main admissions cycle, but we may still have some places available for high achieving students who are eligible for Clearing.
On A-level results day, Thursday 13 August 2026, we expect to be in Clearing for a small number of courses, for highly qualified students. We will release an updated list of courses available through Clearing for 2026 entry on or shortly before August 13.
Once you receive your grades on results day, if you are interested in a course in Clearing, please call our Clearing hotline on +44 (0)20 3858 1050 to discuss your options. The Clearing hotline will open at 08:00 (BST) on Thursday 13 August 2026.
We do not employ a wait list for any programmes except Medicine and Dentistry courses. Applicants who have been put on this waiting list have been officially informed of their status through the King's Apply portal. No further applicants will be added to these wait lists.
Yes, once you’ve requested a callback, your place in the queue is held for you.
Calling again or requesting additional callbacks will not speed up your response time and may delay things further during busy periods.

King's will receive some results directly from UCAS, but not all results. Check out our confirmation webpage for a list of qualifications and whether we receive the results.
When looking for a course in Clearing you should assume that the entry requirements are the same as detailed on the course details. If you are interested in a course that requires higher grades than you have achieved, it's still worth discussing this during Clearing. However, we advise that you have a back-up option that matches your results more closely.
If you receive a verbal offer to study at King's through Clearing, you will need to release your application into Clearing before you can refer your application and accept your offer. You can do this in UCAS Hub by selecting 'Decline my place'. Please note that declining a UF offer is often irreversible, so we urge you to read the UCAS Hub guidance on this before you make your decision.
If you come to King's through Clearing, you may be able to book accommodation with us. Providing you have firmly accepted your academic offer, you can register and check availability on the portal however we cannot guarantee availability. If you are looking to join King's in September 2026, you should look into your options for funding your studies as soon as possible, because some deadlines may have passed. If you need advice, visit our fees and funding webpages or email the funding team at funding@kcl.ac.uk.
Clearing is for undergraduate courses only with the exception of a handful of MSc Nursing courses, however, you may still be able to apply for postgraduate courses if there is availability. You can find courses on our website, as well as information about how to apply and who to contact if you have any queries.
