Our Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics is taught by the Department of Political Economy and the Department of Economics at King’s Business School and combines detailed analysis of economic theory and its applications. The course will develop your analytical and critical skills through modules in economic theory, statistics, maths and econometrics, and apply these to a range of problems in the economy, politics and policy making.
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics will give you a thorough understanding of economic events and processes in a global context. You will learn to think critically and independently about how to solve economic problems and develop a range of skills that will support your intellectual, vocational and personal development. After a first year that will give you a foundation in economics, you will be increasingly free to choose from a range of optional modules in your second and third years, allowing you to pursue your own academic interests.
This course is primarily taught at the King’s College London Strand and Waterloo Campuses, offering you easy access to all the facilities of the university. We are close to the heart of economic and political London, as the City and Westminster are on either side of us. The university’s library and computing facilities are easily accessible, together with the opportunity to use the University of London library at Senate House and access to the British Library at St Pancras.
We will use a delivery method that will ensure students have a rich, exciting experience from the start. Face to face teaching will be complemented and supported with innovative technology so that students also experience elements of digital learning and assessment.
