In partnership with The University of Melbourne (ranked top law school in Australia), the 4-year programme offers students the opportunity to learn both the English and Australian legal systems and to gain two degrees: A LLB qualification in English Law and Australian Law and a Juris Doctor from Melbourne Law School. Students spend year 1 & 2 at King’s and years 3 & 4 at Melbourne. The programme provides a challenging bi-juridical education and is designed for students who seek to practice Law in England or Wales and wish to obtain an in-depth knowledge of Australian Law, or equally, those who are looking to practice in Australia and the ASPAC region.
Degrees in law from King’s College London and the University of Melbourne will satisfy the academic stage of professional qualification in both England and Wales, and Australia. Successful completion of the programme will facilitate a much easier transfer between jurisdictions for those wishing to keep their options open as to where they will practice.
Increasingly, multi-jurisdictional law firms have Australian bases that form key parts of Asia-Pacific practice areas. This degree programme will provide an ideal base for students who wish to broaden their experience and make themselves more marketable in their professional careers.
