Student Mental Health & Education Research

Background & Aims

The King’s College London Education Strategy 2017-2022 declares that “research-enhanced education is at the heart of our approach” and makes a commitment to “draw on its long tradition of research excellence, combined with best educational practice at all levels of study, to be the leading Russell Group University for research-enhanced education.”

Furthermore, the adoption of the Academic Education Pathway, designed to provide “a robust framework to ensure appropriate recognition, reward and opportunities for advancement for exceptional educators at King’s,” expects academics whose careers are focused on education to engage in education-related scholarship.

The Psychology Education Research Group aims to:

  • Undertake and promote education research including conducting research into pedagogy, educational effectiveness, student and staff wellbeing, inclusive and accessible education and widening participation.
  • Encourage academic, industry and third sector collaboration
  • Support the professional development of colleagues engaging in education related research and scholarship.
  • Improve best practice in higher education through dissemination of research findings
  • Encourage and support the acquisition of internal and external research funding
