Two of the first ever grants funded by HERA – Humanities in the European Research Area - have been won by academics in the School of Arts and Humanities.
Emily Butterworth was awarded LCACE (London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange) funding for a collaborative project with artist Clare Qualmann, in association with The Women’s Library, called 'Spinning Stories'.
Under the ‘Block Grant Partnership’ scheme, King’s has been awarded 10 Doctoral and 5 Research Preparation Master’s AHRC studentships over the coming 5 years in the broad area of ‘French Language & Culture’.
The Department of French received an outstanding result in the latest Research Assessment Exercise. Judged by the proportion of our research placed in the top two categories we were equal first among UK French departments; and we were second nationally (just behind Oxford) for work placed in the top category - research judged to be ‘world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour’.
