Welcome to King's College Music Department
The Department of Music at King’s was the first to be established in the University of London. Founded in 1964 by Thurston Dart, a pioneer in the study and performance of early music, it has grown in strength, benefiting from firm links with the Royal Academy of Music, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), ENO, the British Library and the BBC. It is now one of the most prestigious music departments in the UK, with a flourishing research culture and high-level teaching programmes in performance, composition, critical theory, music theatre studies, recorded music, music psychology and analysis.Latest news
