The Centre of Medical Law and Ethics

CMLE Providing opportunities for the study, research and teaching of law and ethics relating to medicine, health care and global issues.

The Centre of Medical Law and Ethics, the first of its kind in the UK, is a leader in promoting research, discussion and training in medical law and ethics. It is part of the School of Law and, as part of King’s College London, it has close links with the Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas ’ School of Medicine, as well as with the Institute of Psychiatry. The Centre is also extensively involved with issues in global ethics.

"It is one of the small number of such centres or departments in the country which are digging deeper into what is useful for the public good, and at the same time carving out new territory in the subject. Its work is indeed of value and benefit to the nation and beyond."
Lord Kennet, House of Lords
