CTRC: Academic programmes
The main focus of the CTRC is on its research activities. However, CTRC staff are also involved in the construction, organisation and running of a number of related academic programmes within the department.
Doctoral research
We offer two routes within the department's doctoral research programme: the traditional MPhil/PhD route, and the taught Doctorate in Ministry (DMin). Both programmes may be followed on either a part-time or full-time basis.

MA Bible & Ministry
MA Bible & Ministry considers understandings of leadership and discipleship within the various parts of the Bible, including concepts of priesthood, elders and bishops.
MA Christian Education
MA Christian Education offers the opportunity to reflect on their own professional responsibilities in the light of innovative practice and the ongoing debate surrounding the Christian theology of education.
MA Contemporary Ecclesiology
The MA in Contemporary Ecclesiology is designed to help those pioneering new forms of Church to reflect critically and theologically on their ministerial practice.
MA Contemporary Worship
The MA in Contemporary Worship is designed to help worship leaders think theologically about their ministry. It explores the changing shape of worship and how it relates to questions of theology and culture.
MA Mission & Ministry in the Modern Age
The MA provides an historical framework for debates on Christian mission and ministry. It traces key developments in church history and ecclesiology, from the Reformation to the present.
MA Pastoral Ethics
MA Pastoral Ethics aims to identify and develop critical frameworks for reflecting upon ethical issues arising in pastoral practice and ministry.
MA Theology, Politics & Faith Based Organisations
The programme aims to equip students with theological tools that will help them to analyse the styles and the purposes of Christian ministry.
MA Youth Ministry
MA Youth Ministry is designed to help those working in Church-related youth work to reflect critically and theologically on their ministerial practice.
MA Religious Education
Directed by Dr Philip Barnes, MA Religious Education is concerned with all aspects of the teaching of religion in schools and is designed for primary and secondary teachers.

PGCE Religious Education
