Admission requirements
In order to apply for the Summer School at King's you should meet the criteria below. These are general guidelines for admission and all cases are dealt with on an individual basis. If you do not meet the requirements but believe that you will benefit from attending our Summer School then please do contact us; we are happy to offer advice.
To apply for the Summer School at King's you should usually:

have undertaken a year's university level study

have a high cumulative university grade in your national university system, for example in the UK within the 2:1 bracket or in the USA a GPA of 3.3 or above. We accept equivalents from most other international university systems

have met our minimum English language requirements if English is not your first language. Please see further details below

Example equivalencies
Students often ask us how their overseas grades relate to our admission criteria. The below intends to give an indication for a small number of countries, please get in touch if you have further questions:

Brazil: 8 or higher from a recognized university

Colombia: 3.9 out of a GPA of 5 from a recognized university

France: 13 or higher from a recognized university

Germany: ‘gut’ or better from a recognized university

Hong Kong: good grades from a recognized university

Korea (South): good grades from a recognized university

Norway: B or better from a recognized university

Russia: 4 or higher from a recognized university

Switzerland: on a grading from 1 – 6, 5 or higher from a recognized university
Alternative qualifications
If you feel that you may not meet our academic requirements but are keen to attend our Summer School then please contact us; we are happy to offer advice. For example:

you may not meet our minimum GPA requirement; in some cases it is possible to accept slightly lower grades, depending on the strength of the application as a whole

you may perhaps be a mature student that has been out of education for a while but has relevant professional experience
English language requirements
All courses on the Summer School will be taught and assessed entirely in English, apart from elements of the Languages courses. Therefore all students whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency. We currently accept the following:
Applicants who wish to refresh their English language skills may be interested to note that we offer a Pre-sessional English language course prior to each session. In some circumstances this Pre-sessional language course may be compulsory.
