Funding to support projects that align with King's Impact Priorities.
Community is a fantastic tool for helping inspire and support us in taking action, whether it’s for environmental, social, or other forms of sustainability.
Our community at King’s consists of an incredibly diverse and powerful group, with strengths, knowledge and expertise that help everyone to have a chance to get involved.
Whether you’re a staff member, student, alum or community partner, there are plenty of ways to get involved and help us make change together.
We believe that coming together and harnessing the power of our amazing community is one of the key ways in which we can take action on climate change. By including the diverse voices, strengths and knowledges of our community, we can truly make change together.

Find opportunities and build connections to make a difference.
Help reduce energy waste across our campuses.
Across our campuses, there are two community gardens which offer green spaces, volunteering opportunities, and spaces for our community to take action. Gardening is a great way to connect to nature – whether it’s spending time among biodiversity, being active, or helping plants grow, getting involved with our community gardens is a great way to help your mental and physical wellbeing whilst helping take action to make King’s a greener space.

The Guy's Community Garden was created by Oli Austen – Sustainability Champion and senior technical officer in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. Oli set up the space as gardening is great way to connect with nature, especially for city dwellers, and evidence for the positive impact of gardening is always growing. Since its creation the garden has been tended to by undergraduate and postgraduate students, professional services staff, academics, technicians and KCLSU staff.

The Denmark Hill Community Garden was set up in Summer 2024 by Lucy Menage and Megan Williams to offer a vibrant space where staff and students can connect with nature, each other, and their wellbeing. The garden is a volunteer-led project that’s grown into a hub for creativity, sustainability and community. You can attend free educational workshops, undertake volunteering and even host your own events.
