External examiners

Eligibility to work in the UK

King’s College London is required by the Immigration Regulations to verify the right to work in the UK of any person undertaking work at the College. This is irrespective of the length or nature of employment, or the fact that the individual is employed by another institution.

We must verify your eligibility to work in the UK by sight of appropriate documents before you commence your duties as External Examiner. This does require additional input from you as an examiner, but King's College London is grateful for your willingness to provide the documentation to allow us to meet the legislative requirements.

Those eligible to work in the UK are British citizens, nationals of the European Economic Area or from Switzerland.  For further information on these immigration rules please visit the home office web site
