Edith Hall awarded the Charles J Goodwin Award of Merit

Professor Edith Hall has been awarded the Charles J. Goodwin Award of Merit for her book Adventures with Iphigenia in Tauris: A Cultural History of Euripides' Black Sea Tragedy.

The award is presented by the Society for Classical Studies and is given to outstanding contributions to classical scholarship. 

Professor Hall's book was noted for its 'promise of a present and future for the inescapable, and inescapably intrepid, classical past'.

The prize will be awarded at the Society's 146th Annual Meeting on 9 January 2015 in New Orleans.
