Communication after the internet: Tim Jordan Podcast
Hearsay Culture is a series of podcasts about different aspects of digital culture, with a particular focus on issues run out of Stanford University's Centre for Internet and Society and it's radio station KZSU-FM. Tim Jordan was the subject of podcast 192 in which he discussed his recent book Internet, Society and Culture: communicative practices before and after the internet. In the discussion Tim connects his work on communication to his previous work on hacking and explains the major case studies of 19th Century Letters to Australia and 21st Century online gaming in World of Warcraft which are the major empirical components of this book. He also explains the different kinds of communication that emerge with the rise of the internet and explores their significance for social and cultural relations.
