Southeast Asia Workshop Success

Members of the CSSS team facilitated a regional workshop on radiological source security in Indonesia during July. Alberto Muti and Dr Rob Downes traveled to Jakarta with subject matter experts drawn from the UK's medical sector and regulatory agency, including former radioactive source regulator and Visiting Research Fellow Dr Chris Englefield. The workshop was funded by the UK's Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and was held in partnership with Indonesia's national agency for nuclear power BATAN. Participants hailed from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The event builds on CSSS's longstanding partnerships in Indonesia while contributing to the UK's Global Threat Reduction Programme.
