DDH's CGI related visualisation used in recent BBC4 programme 'Ancient Greece: the Greatest Show on Earth'.

Martin Blazeby, Research Fellow in the Department of Digital Humanities (DDH) and a core member of the King’s Visualisation Lab (KVL) has created some CGI related visualisation used in the recent BBC4 programme 'Ancient Greece: the Greatest Show on Earth'. The work was shown in the final episode 'Romans' screened on BBC4 on Tuesday 10th September.

Martin created detailed 3D architectural reconstructed views of the theatre of Pompey in Rome which was the largest theatre the Romans ever built. The 3D model shows the enormity of the theatre, as shown in a series of overlays as the presenter Dr Michael Scott walked through the site today. He also created some 3D hypothetical views of a temporary Roman theatre stage which gives a comparison in size and structure to that of the Pompey theatre.
