Dr Elena Pierazzo awarded Marie Curie funds in Digital Scholarly Editing

We are delighted to announce that the Department of Digital Humanities at King’s College London was recently awarded part of a 4 million Euro European grant as part of the DiXiT network. The project coordinated by Dr Elena Pierazzo, includes full stipendiary research studentships in the field of Digital Scholarly Editing.

DiXiT is funded under Marie Curie Actions within the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme and runs from September 2013 until August 2017. 

The Digital Scholarly Editions Initial Training Network (DiXiT) is an international network of high-profile institutions from the public and the private sector that are actively involved in the creation and publication of digital scholarly editions.

The DiXiT network includes the following academic partners:

  • - University of Cologne (coordinator) – Germany
  • - King’s College London - UK
  • - University of Borås – Sweden
  • - Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands (Huygens ING), Department of Textual Scholarship and Literary  Studies – Netherlands
  • - University of Antwerp – Belgium
  • - University of Graz – Austria
  • - Trinity College Dublin – Ireland
  • - École des Haute Études en Sciences Sociales – France
  • - Università di Roma “La Sapienza” – Italy
  • - University of Oxford – UK

Private sector partners include publishing houses in the UK, France, Germany  and Italy as well as several software development companies.

DiXiT offers a coordinated training and research programme for early stage researchers and experienced researchers in the multi-disciplinary skills, technologies, theories, and methods of digital scholarly editing. It includes 12 fellowships for early stage researchers (PhDs) for a period of 3 years, and 5 fellowships for experienced researchers (Post-Doc) for a period of 12 to 20 months.

It will also organise seven training events at various level, open to all DiXiT fellows as well as to other people that may be interested in the topics covered.

The positions will be advertised starting from the month of October.

King’s College London will offer two full time PhD Scholarships under the supervision of Dr Elena Pierazzo, Department of Digital Humanities as well as organising the first of the training events in April 2014.
