Postgraduate Research Day: a resounding success

The Dental Institute's 18th Annual Postgraduate Research Day was held on Wednesday 9th March at Guy's Campus.

All second and third year postgraduate research (PGR) students presented their work to fellow students and staff. With 52 abstracts presented across 5 research streams, the day was a perfect way to showcase the exciting and varied research being carried out within the Dental Institute and the quality of the presentations was very high.   The sessions were facilitated and kept to time by the excellent chairs that were all PGR students.  

This year we also repeated the Plenary Session which was successfully introduced in 2015, where the students with the highest scoring abstracts presented to all PGR students, supervisors and staff in the Tower Lecture Theatre.  The session was chaired by the Director of Postgraduate Studies Professor Abigail Tucker.

Each presentation was scored by members of staff and the students judged to have given the best talk in each stream were presented with a certificate and a voucher by the Dean of Research Professor Andrea Streit.

The day ended with a well-deserved party organised by third year student Anna Lopez Munoz and the PGR Student Committee.
