King's attends 7th Social Business Day in Dhaka
Ed Halliday, Accelerator Manager in the Entrepreneurship Institute and Emily Brothwood, President of Enactus KCL, attended the 7th Social Business Day (SBD) in Dhaka on 28-29 July.
Hosted by Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus, the SBD provides a platform to network and learn from social business leaders from across the globe, and discuss and celebrate the concept of social business.

The event was held in Le Méridien Hotel, Dhaka, and involved a series of interactive panel sessions and workshops under the theme “Can Wealth Concentration Be Stopped?”.
About the event Ed said, “This was the first time King’s has attended the event and it was full of ideas, inspiring individuals, and opportunities to network with individuals coming from across the world from Mexico to China, and we came away with new perspectives on how to address major social challenges.”
Emily said, “The Social Business Day was a really inspiring event and gave me an opportunity to see the exciting work that is going on around the world. We met some truly amazing people who were able to give new perspectives for me to bring back to the Enactus KCL team and incorporate into our work next year.”

Last August, King’s and the Yunus Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding to become London's first Yunus Social Business Centre. The university provides world-class social entrepreneurship support for King’s students, and were recently recognised by UnLtd with an SEE Changemaker Award.
Enactus KCL are national champions and will represent the UK at the Enactus World Cup 26-28 September at ExCel London.
