King's entrepreneurs invited to Royal Garden Party

Ten students, staff and alumni from the Entrepreneurship Institute and King’s20 accelerator have been invited to The Queen’s Garden Party.

Each year The Queen welcomes 30,000 guests to spend a relaxed summer afternoon in the gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The events allow The Royal Family to speak to people from different walks of life who have made a positive impact on their communities.

Anandana Bakshi, Head of Entrepreneurship at the Entrepreneurship Institute attended on 16 May along with Dr Tamara Bugembe, Founder of Helper Bees; Ross Lindgren, Founder of 1ClickPromos; Dr Bhavagaya Bakshi, Cofounder of C the Signs; Barbara Njau and Kudawashe Kamupira, Cofounders of Bahati Books and their guests.

Entrepreneurs attending on Thursday 1 June are King’s alumni Fares Alaboud, Founder of The Medic App; Lauren Kienzle and Dima Alazzi of Moovr and Dr Tom Simpson from Oslr.

Speaking about the day, Ana Bakshi said,

"It was a privilege to be invited and for King’s entrepreneurs to be recognised for the positive impact they’re making on society. We were also thrilled to meet Princess Beatrice who endorsed the importance of enterprise education and working more closely together. The Duke of York will be supporting the Institute at our first Demo Day later this year.’

Ross Lindgren said; 

“I can’t think of anything more motivating than standing alongside fellow entrepreneurs invited to one of the most exclusive social events of the year. It’s truly an honour. It certainly beat teatime at the office!”
