Arrows_400

29 students have been awarded a King’s Enterprise Award - more than double that of previous years.

The Award is given in recognition of students who have taken part in entrepreneurial activities in addition to their formal studies. Examples of this in 2016-2017 included participation in pitching, creative thinking and startup ideation workshops, the Venture Crawl run by the Entrepreneurship Institute, and using the entrepreneurship online resources on KEATS course 0ZLS1102.

The award is open to all students at King’s and those receiving the award come from a range of faculties and years.

Students were required to produce a 2000-2500 word business plan or project proposal, along with a reflective essay about their learning. Examples of learning included gaining core capabilities of leadership, team-working, communication and networking skills.

The King’s Enterprise Awards are part of King’s Experience Awards and appear on students’ Higher Education Achievement Record.

Registration for the 2017-2018 King’s Enterprise Award opens in September 2017.

Learning Programme Manager at the Entrepreneurship Institute, Jeremy Shorter said,

“Well done to all the students who took part, we were glad to see people from such a diverse range of subjects take part. The award is a great achievement and will help set them apart from their peers. We look forward to bright futures for them all.”

Awardee Shivali Bennion, Linguistics graduate said,

"I felt a real sense of achievement when I completed my award. I'd definitely recommend it to other students to get formal recognition of the hard work and initiative they've taken outside of their degree."
