Dr Tom Simpson voted most innovative teacher at Guy's and St Thomas'
Dr Tom Simpson, Research Fellow, Respiratory registrar and founder of Oslr, has been celebrated for innovation in clinical teaching at the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine's Teaching Excellence awards.
Tom was nominated by students based at St Thomas’, winning an overwhelming majority of the votes.

Tom was praised for his innovation, creative teaching methods and development of the Oslr app; an app that facilitates bedside teaching for medical students.
Tom and the Oslr team are on the Entrepreneurship Institute’s Kings20 accelerator programme, and the app has already had a lot of positive feedback and is currently being used by more than 350 students and doctors.
Speaking about the award Tom said:
“I am honoured to be voted most innovative teacher. Guy’s and St Tommy’s is my home, I trained here and have spent all my working career here. It’s a fantastic and inspirational place full of passionate and dedicated people. The NHS is going through difficult times at the moment and we need innovation more than ever. Thank you to all the brilliant colleagues and students who’ve supported me.”
