Professor Daniele Conversi speaks at King's

Professor Daniele Conversi, a Research Professor at the University of the Basque Country and Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science, recently spoke about the The new secessionist wave –Reflections on the crisis of the neo-liberal state, in a joint seminar organised by the Departments of European & International Studies and Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies. Professor Conversi explored the meaning and impact of secessionist movements in Europe, with a focus on Spain, at the intersection of neo-liberalism, the current austerity politics and the declining legitimacy of nation-states as the ultimate container for the organisation of political and economic life.
