Four Nations History book to be published in 2017
History PhD students Naomi Lloyd-Jones and Maggie Scull have just signed a contract to co-edit a book based on a conference they held at King's in February. The book will be called United Kingdom? Four Nations Approaches to Modern 'British' History, 1700-1960 and will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2017.
Together Naomi and Maggie set up the Four Nations History Network, a research community that connects academics studying England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales or taking four nations approaches to modern 'British' history. They publish weekly blogs and plan to hold further events in the coming year. More information on Four Nations History Network and their upcoming book can be found at www.fournationshistory.wordpress.com
Maggie is a 3rd year PhD student researching the Catholic Church and the Northern Ireland troubles. Her first article will be published later this year in Irish Political Studies.
Naomi is writing up her PhD, a four nations history of the Irish Home Rule crisis. Her articles have been published in the English Historical Review and Historical Research.
