Informatics professor invited plenary speaker

Professor Colin Cooper, of the Department of Informatics, is an invited plenary speaker at a forthcoming Yandex Research Workshop which will take place in October 2013. Other plenary speakers include Jennifer Chayes and Christian Borgs (Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director, Microsoft Research Labs New England).

The Yandex search engine is the Russian equivalent of Google. Yandex is the primary search engine in many Russian speaking countries, with a 60% market share in Russia itself.

Colin Cooper is a Professor of Theoretical Computer Science and a member of the Algorithms and Bioinformatics group. His research interests include random structures and algorithms, random walks, network search and the structure of large networks and algorithm performance.
