Students come third in Facebook London Hackathon
A team of undergraduate students from the Department of Informatics recently came third in the Facebook London Hackathon, which took place on 27 - 28 April 2013. Each competing team had only 24 hours to come up with a project, design it and build it; they then had only 2 minutes to present and demonstrate their finished project.
The Informatics team (Tomáš Vítek, Artur Muller, Yogesh Nagarur, Toby Schrapel, Jason Hoang and Ben Lertlumprasertkul) created a Facebook game called Russian Roulette.
Commenting on the Hackathon, Tomáš Vítek said "It was a great experience. Not only did we get to meet other students who are passionate about technology and get the chance to put our questions to the Facebook experts, but we also got to hang out at the Facebook London offices, which are pretty cool -- with table tennis, hammocks and an unlimited supply of food and drinks. And best of all -- we built something we’re proud of."
