Informatics Student Wins Lion's Den Challenge
On the 17th of March 2015, Agostino Stilli, a PhD student in Robotics from the Centre for Robotics Research in the Department of Informatics, took part in the Lion’s Den Challenge Final Event.
Lion’s Den is a programme, supported by King’s Graduate School, that aims to make the business ideas of those at King’s College London a reality through workshops, mentorship and prize money. The competition is open to all students, staff and recent alumni at King’s College London from any discipline at King's College London and equivalents across King's Health Partners.
Together with his friend, Luca Amaduzzi, a Cass Business School alumni, Agostino has designed WingLights, direction indicators for bicycles, a simple and elegant solution conceived to bring the tried and true method employed by every other road vehicle to indicate the intention to turn to bicycles. Thanks to his idea, Agostino has been awarded with the Best Business Idea Prize (£5,000) and the Best Pitch Prize (£1,000) in the Lion’s Den Final Event.
