Algorithms and Bioinformatics group ISPIRE grant

The Algorithms and Bioinformatics research group from the Department of Informatics received an ISPIRE grant from the Partnership Development Fund of the British Council to organize research meetings in London and Dhaka. The ISPIRE grant is to collaborate with Professor M. Sohel Rahman of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) , on Advances in Algorithms for Next Generation Biological Sequences.

The one year collaboration will focus on algorithms for bioinformatics and allow both departments to develop new algorithms for sequences produced by next generation sequencing technologies. Additionally the project will lead to efficient open source implementations of these algorithms.
